Holiday Event - Santa Barbara Revels' The Christmas Revels: In Celebration of the Winter Solstice

Facebook Check-In QR Codes

One of the growing trends in social media marketing is the use of Facebook check-ins. People check-in to a location, for example a retail store, or to an event letting other people know that they are there.

People usually check-in using the Facebook application; however, they can also check-in by scanning a QR Code that activates the check-in. A poster with the check-in is a great reminder to people that they can check-in. The above QR Code initiates a check in to the Wilson Printing location - try it out!

An important thing to remember if you are going to make a poster with a Facebook check-in QR Code - make sure that people are actually able to scan it in! Make the image and poster big enough so people can read it. Don't make it too big so that the scanner can't read the entire image.

Did you know that Wilson Printing has complete book printing and binding services? Many of the books at University of California Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara City College are printed right here in Goleta!

We recently had the pleasure of printing the book Santa Barbara, Land of Dynamic Beauty: A Natural History. Written by Ed Keller, professor in the Department of Earth Science and Environmental Studies Program at UCSB, this is one of the most comprehensive books on Santa Barbara that you will find. The book covers everything from the geologic history to great places to see the natural history of our area.

Two of the more comprehensive chapters are on sustainability and natural hazards. The sustainability chapter has in-depth information about water, energy, waste, and global warming with information on how we can achieve sustainability in Santa Barbara. The natural hazards of Santa Barbara chapter covers earthquakes, floods, and tsunamis with recommendations on how to protect oneself.

Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Brochure - Free Classes!

We recently printed the Fall & Winter Recreation Programs for All Ages brochure for Santa Barbara Parks & Recreation!

The brochure lists a number of classes that you can attend for free during the week of September 12 - 17. The free classes are at the Carrillo Recreation Center, 100 East Carrillo Street.
